Tonight longtime Seattle saxophonist Dick Valentine and I will explore jazz tunes and gritty improvisations that explore the timbres of the high saxophones. Additionally, we will bring the listener through a sonic journey using resultant or "difference tones" created with our instruments. Dick will perform on the rarely heard Sopranino, and I will perform on the C Soprano. Dick is a world traveler that has an extensive instrument collection of rare artifacts from around the world, and this open-minded aesthetic is absolutely reflected in his horn playing. 

The Spite House is one of Seattle's best avant venues, and is located in a cozy house no less. Admission is pay what you can, donation-based. As always, admission includes home-cooked food, great conversation and innovative music.
