Date: 02/15/2015
Location: Home studio in Clinton, WA (Whidbey Island)
Instrument: Tenor saxophone / goat toenail shaker
Notes:
To create this piece I shoved a goat toenail shaker into my bell. This created a wonderfully muted sound in the lower register while I played. I decided to use slap tonguing to accentuate this mute quality, and I would occasionally interrupt the expected sound profile by reaching into my bell with my right hand and shake the goat nails.
