09/30/2014 (Continuous Resonance Solo Improvisation)

Neil Welch, Continuous Resonance Project
Date: 09/30/2014
Location: The orchestra room at Chief Sealth High School. Seattle, WA
Instrument: Tenor saxophone

Notes:

This improvisation was recorded with my mic placed inside a medium sized steel drum. Students were periodically coming in and and out of the room and were intrigued by the strange visual of a saxophone player blowing into a steel drum. In order to avoid interruption I was restricted to a very short improvisation.

Bad Luck THREE available today!

Bad Luck sculpted the music for THREE while touring and performing over the last couple of years. Many of the songs emerged during long stints on the road together. Holding steady to the artistic integrity of their previous records, Bad Luck (2009), Two (2011) and the Bloodroot EP (2012) Bad Luck performs music only possible with these two musicians in a room together. But THREE also marks a bit of an artistic departure. The album includes far more grooves and a more streamlined approach to their writing. Bad Luck is known for their high-energy shows, and THREE captures that spirit spot-on.
